Thankfully a marvellous WordPress plug-in called Akismet filters it all out, and all I have to do is check the quarantined stuff occasionally in case there&#8217;s been a false positive.  So far it&#8217;s worked perfectly, with no false results.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve noticed recently that some of the spammers, instead of putting meaningless crap in the comment body, have now started putting jokes instead.  Which is nice, because it gives me a chuckle when I&#8217;m clearing them out.  I thought I&#8217;d share a few with you&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><em>The strong young man at the construction site was bragging that he could outdo anyone in a feat of strength. He made a special case of making fun of one of the older workmen. After several minutes, the older worker had had enough. \u201cWhy don\u2019t you put your money where your mouth is,\u201d he said. \u201cI will bet a week\u2019s wages that I can haul something in a wheelbarrow over to that outbuilding that you won\u2019t be able to wheel back.\u201d \u201cYou\u2019re on, old man,\u201d the braggart replied. \u201cLet\u2019s see what you got.\u201d The old man reached out and grabbed the wheelbarrow by the handles. Then, nodding to the young man, he said, \u201cAll right. Get in.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8212;&#8212;-<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Service Agencies <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>At one time in my life, I thought I understood the meaning of the word \u201cservice.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The act of doing things for other people. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Then I heard the terms:<br \/>\nInternal Revenue Service<br \/>\nPostal Service<br \/>\nCivil Service<br \/>\nService Stations<br \/>\nCustomer Service<br \/>\nCity\/County Public Service <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>And I became confused about the word \u201cservice.\u201d This is not what I thought \u201cservice\u201d meant. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Then one day, I overheard two farmers talking, and one of them mentioned that he was having a bull service a few of his cows. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>WHAM!! It all came into perspective! Now I understand what all those \u201cservice\u201d agencies are doing to us. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8212;&#8212;-<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>There are 3 hunters in the woods, they\u2019re all telling each other what they\u2019re<br \/>\ngoing to shoot. The first one says he\u2019s going to get a buck. So he goes out and<br \/>\ncomes back with a buck. Then the other 2 hunters ask how he did it and he says,<br \/>\n\u2018\u2019I see tracks I follow tracks I get buck&#8217;\u2019. So the second hunter says \u201cI\u2019m<br \/>\ngoing to get a doe.\u201d So he goes out and comes back with a doe. Then the 3rd<br \/>\nhunter asks him how he did it. The 2nd hunter says, \u2018\u2019I see tracks I follow<br \/>\ntracks I get doe&#8217;\u2019. So the 3rd hunter says, \u2018\u2019I&#8217;m just going to shoot at<br \/>\nanything I see&#8217;\u2019. So he goes out and comes back half a day later all beaten<br \/>\nbruised bloody and totally trashed. And the other two hunters ask what happened<br \/>\nand he says, \u2018\u2019I see tracks I follow tracks, I get hit by train!&#8217;\u2019 <\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I get loads of spam on this site in the comments.
