{"id":22,"date":"2006-10-26T10:55:58","date_gmt":"2006-10-26T09:55:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.martyndavis.com\/?p=22"},"modified":"2006-10-26T10:55:58","modified_gmt":"2006-10-26T09:55:58","slug":"logitech-v20-notebook-speakers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.martyndavis.com\/?p=22","title":{"rendered":"Logitech V20 Notebook Speakers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I recently bought an M-Audio Keystation 88es MIDI keyboard (I&#8217;ve wanted to learn to play piano for years, but strangely have always been drawn to strings &#8211; electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass, violin, and, for a short while, cello).<\/p>\n<p>It works brilliantly with Garage Band, but the speakers in the Macbook are small and tinny.\u00a0 So I plugged it through the hi-fi.\u00a0 It sounds fantastic.\u00a0 However, I really wanted to leave the keyboard set up in the spare room, where there&#8217;s no hi-fi.\u00a0 So I started to think about getting some computer speakers&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--> It was a bit of an impulse purchase.\u00a0 I went into Curry&#8217;s and picked up a pair of Logitech V20 Notebook Speakers -the box made them sound great.\u00a0 USB powered, so no external PSU required.\u00a0 Blooming expensive though, for such little speakers &#8211; \u00a350.\u00a0 Still I thought, they are small and neat and would be unobtrusive in the spare room next to the keyboard.<\/p>\n<p>Well, imagine my surprise when I plugged them in and THEY WERE NO LOUDER than the Macbook&#8217;s speakers.\u00a0 OK, so the bass sounds better, but the volume is just completely weedy.\u00a0 What&#8217;s the point????<br \/>\nI&#8217;m going to put it all back in the box and see if I can get a refund.\u00a0 Caveat Emptor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I recently bought an M-Audio Keystation 88es MIDI keyboard (I&#8217;ve wanted to learn to play piano for years, but strangely have always been drawn to strings &#8211; electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass, violin, and, for a short while, cello).
